Dragons live in sheltered sand wallows in the fields above the Lower Caverns. Their riders have huts to live in beside their dragon's wallow.

The Dining Hall is where the majority of the Weyr's residents take their meals. The kitchens are nearby and always staffed. There is nearly always food available for peckish riders.

The lower caverns are where the Weyr's non-rider residents live and work. They are built into a natural cave system and it is quite easy to get lost in some of the lesser used tunnels.

The candidate barracks are located in the lower caverns and it is where the candidates live before Impressing. There are two separate barracks located beside each other, one for male candidates and the other for females, and a large common area to the west of them where lessons take place. Up to four candidates can live in one room, though there'll usually be less.

The weyrling barracks are set up in the northwestern part of the Weyr, close to the Hatching Sands, and consist of a long building for lessons and riders to live in, surrounded by the weyrlings' sand wallows.

A large, spacious chamber at the north end of the Common Fields, it's sheltered from the rain and filled with heated sand for the eggs. Also lined with stands where spectators can sit to watch hatchings. A large gold's clutch or several smaller clutches can fit on the sands at one time; though these days the sands are occupied almost constantly by one or more reds. During hatchings, a table with rags and buckets of meat is set up on the sands for newly-Impressed riders to clean and feed their new bond-mates.

Mating flights will happen here, as well as other threads in the air above the Weyr.

Located a little under a mile from Quindell Weyr, this is where dragons go to bathe or just play in the water. Humans also use it for various purposes.

A small riverside hold famed for its runnerbeasts.

An average-sized forest hold. Lumber, mining and smithing are big.

If you're looking for where the yaroii built their houses, better look up--they're tree-dwellers, and the buildings they've constructed in the forests are, naturally, tree-houses.

This is what the yaroii call the system of caverns that used to be Ista Weyr. They rarely venture there, save for the bravest and most foolhardy yaroii; going underground is considered bad luck, and the site's rumored to be haunted, besides.
